The team's opinion: A gold color? Recognizable knobs between 1000? A Diamond Cornerstone pedal? I think you will have understood, we are in the presence of a very Marshallesque overdrive! The Canadians at Diamond, renowned for their incredible Memory Lane delay, strike a blow with this Overdrive. First of all, from an aesthetic point of view, this pedal is a success. The gold color, coupled with the Marshall amp knobs (yes they are originals!), gives this pedal a really collector's look.
Regarding the sound, you will be spoiled! It is a clever mix between a modded Marshall JTM45 and a JCM 800. Surely the 2 best references of the English brand. Level definition, the level of detail is simply stunning. We have owned a high-end Clone of the Jtm 45 and we find almost the same sensations of play with the latter. It's warm, organic, incisive but never garish. The dynamics are simply incredible for an effects pedal. This feat is made possible thanks to an innovative circuit compiling several stages of gains, adjustable by two controls: Gain 1 and Gain 2, thus making it possible to deliver different saturations! Gain 1 will simulate the preamp section of the amplifier where Gain 2 will look at the amplification part. The Cornerstone also has a frequency control knob with a midrange attenuator/boost, and a “Bright” switch acting on the high frequencies. A rare and extremely qualitative pedal! For advanced users.
This Diamond cornerstone pedal is reminiscent of the Xotic SL Drive while offering a slightly more modern sound. Do not hear there a very slight compression on the mid frequencies. Find the tests of our effects pedals on our channel Youtube.
