The opinion of the team: Cocorico here is a French effect pedal! So… to be completely honest, Dolmen Effects Jeanne Reizh is from Brittany. It's not the same, it's better!
But back to our pedal, it's a versatile overdrive, punchy but smooth and with a nice headroom. it starts well, doesn't it?
The Jeanne Reizh is based on the “Timmy” and the “Jan Ray” from Vemuram. It is therefore classified in the overdrive category transparent but not devoid of character! The Base of the Jeanne Reizh is certainly a Tubescreamer but much more natural (and therefore less typical), and above all much less compressed.
The game dynamics are really good and make it closer to a Klon Centaur. However, you can imagine that our Breton friends are not content to copy! The Jeanne Reizh stands out with its different clipping mode with an asymmetrical feedback composed of silicon and germanium diodes for increased dynamics and better reproduction of a tube amp driven by bullets!
For the craziest, the pedal has many internal trimpots giving access to 10 different clipping modes. Personally, I was too lazy to use them all but the idea is interesting for the most technically savvy.
With the Jeann Reizh, Dolmen Effects gives us a rather original and extremely musical creation. Its many possibilities allow it to be a very effective overdrive all in one.
A great alternative to Walrus Audio Voyager
