The team's opinion: The Solidgold FX Surf Rider III (yes it's long) is a reverb pedal inspired by the old spring reverbs of the 60s! Vintage you say? Yes, but with a hint of modernism.
To design the Surf Rider, the engineers at Solidgold FX were inspired by the reverbs embedded in the Deluxe Reverb and Vibroverb from Fender. The name surfing also refers to the musical current of the 60's, largely using this type of effect.
The controls on this pedal will allow you to accurately gauge echo length, presence, and (not possible with a real spring) tone. Which can be very practical depending on the guitar used.
The mix of analog and digital technology allows a much longer echo length than with a traditional spring reverb. Which can be a plus for typical ambient sounds, but with a touch of vintage. Small mention to the boost switch, which will allow you to increase the output volume. Very useful for breaking into the mix, especially during a solo.
The Solidgold FX Surf Rider is a great alternative to the JHS The Alpine. Find our used effects pedals on our channel Youtube.
